Jujutsu Kaisen Shows Off Yuta

Jujutsu Kaisen fans know there is one truth in the series, and that is not to underestimate Yuta Okkotsu, The whole thing came around by the end of chapter 175 as Jujutsu Kaisen is back from its short break. Creator Gege Akutami kept up with Yuta as he fought against one of the Culling Game's top challengers, Kurourushi.

The cursed spirit is a living cockroach, so fans knew this battle was going to be gross, but things hit the fan before long.

At one point, Yuta ends up being caught by Kurourushi, and it seems the sorcerer might be eaten by the cockroach. Even the other highest-scoring players believe that will be the case, but Yuta overcomes the odds as always. Though he wanted to avoid showing his true power, Yuta did use a Reverse Cursed Technique and delivered the blow... by mouth.

Yes, you did read that right. Yuta had no other choice but to use his mouth to deliver the final blow. He directed the technique's output through his mouth, and to get a killing blow on the cockroach, Yuta locked lips with the spirit to ensure his attack hit.

Obviously, there are few people in this world who would want to kiss a cursed life-sized cockroach, and Yuta is still one of them. He didn't want to do it, but Yuta knew it was his best shot at winning. Now, he is left to deal with the consequences of showing his hand, and Yuta seems to have sparked the attention of the game's top female contestant.

Jujutsu Kaisen Director Pens New Artwork of Yuta and Rika

Jujutsu Kaisen may have debuted last December, but the movie still has a hold on anime fans well into 2 22. As more global releases dot the horizon, the Jujutsu Kaisen team is doing all it can to hype the movie's reach, That is why the director of Jujutsu Kaisen just penned a special sketch of Yuta for fans, and it brings the boy together with his childhood sweetheart Rika.

The gift comes from Park Sunghoo, the man who oversaw Jujutsu Kaisen from start to finish. The Korean director posted a black-and-white sketch of Yuta to fans in South Korea, and he made sure to include Rika as you can see below.

Clearly, Park is talented with ink as he drew Yuta and Rika in profile for fans. The first-year sorcerer looks determined in this shot, and his ringed eyes are focused more so than usual. As for Rika, the Special Grade curse is as horrifying as usual. Her gaping maw gives Venom a run for his money, and Sunghoo nails Rika's unnatural vibe just right.

Jujutsu Kaisen outside of Japan, and it will not be long before they get the chance. The movie will debut in North America on March 18 in more than 1,5 theaters. Funimation and Crunchyroll are overseeing the launch, and Jujutsu Kaisen has enjoyed global launches already. South Korea just welcomed the film to its roster, so you can understand why Sunghoo wanted to share this sketch with those in his home country.

Jujutsu Kaisen, you can use this film as a launchpad as it serves as its prequel. You can then tune into season one of Jujutsu Kaisen on Crunchyroll or Funimation. A second season has been announced and will debut in Winter 2023.

Mistakes That Still Haunt Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen anime showrunners, story collaborators, and characters, themselves, have made mistakes that haunt the show. From letting foes go to trusting the wrong people, there are plenty of jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits that have made less than advantageous decisions throughout the series.

There were plenty of decisions made throughout the writing, animating, and directing of Jujutsu Kaisen that has had some fans questioning the choices of the anime and manga runners. Things like the trajectory of certain character paths or the nature of the power systems have been enough to raise a few eyebrows.

Junpei's Trust In Mahito Was Painfully Misplaced

Junpei Yoshino was an unfortunate character who was manipulated at every turn. Jujutsu Kaisen felt long-reaching effects because of Junpei's mistakes. He met Mahito at a time when he was vulnerable. He had been bullied and he wanted revenge and this made it easy for Mahito to control Junpei.

The results of Junpei and Mahito's relationship were the surface of another of Sukuna's fingers, the death of innocents, and the perpetuation of Mahito's power — which would eventually lead to even more death among the jujutsu sorcerers.

The Eating Of Sukuna's Fingers Was The Start Of A Lot Of Pain

When Yuji Itadori ate Sakuna's finger, it set in motion many tragic events. There was no way for the unaware Itadori to know what would happen as a result of this. However, what would later occur as a direct consequence included the deaths of many including Itadori himself (for a time).

Considering how impactful this mistake would be, it is easy to see why Yoshinobu Gakuganji, one of the leaders in the jujutsu sorcery community, would call for Itadori's execution. They knew exactly what was liable to happen now that Itadori had become Sukuna's vessel and leaving him alive could cause a lot of harm.

Letting Itadori Live Would Also Lead To Tragedy

The decision to protect Itadori and keep him alive despite being Sukuna's vessel was also a necessary mistake. While characters such as Satoru Gojo believed that Itadori being the vessel could lead to some sort of productive outcome, others knew the carnage that would follow.

Those who signed off on keeping Itadori alive also signed the death warrants for many who would become collateral the Shibuya Incident was proof of that. Whether or not it was the right decision, it was a decision that was necessary for the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen, seeing as Itadori was the protagonist.
