On March 1st, 2022 multiple seasons of the One Piece anime will be coming to Netflix, Anime fans rejoice! More episodes of Eiichiro Oda’s epic One Piece anime is on the way and will be available to stream on Netflix in March 2022.
One Piece is one of the most beloved and most successful and beloved Japanese fictional franchises in history. Starting life as a manga in weekly shonen jump in July 1997, the popularity of the series quickly grew paving the way for its anime adaptation. The manga still continues to this day, with both the number of manga chapters and anime episodes exceeding 1000.
In June 2020 Netflix US received episodes of One Piece for the first time. Both the East Blue and Alabasta Sagas became available to stream. Fans have been rewarded for patience, as for the first time in 21 months more seasons of One Piece will arrive soon.

When are more One Piece seasons coming to Netflix?
Now listed on Netflix’s coming soon page, and on the One Piece page, it has been confirmed that more seasons will be arriving on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022.
Which story arcs of One Piece will arrive next?
When Netflix first received multiple seasons of One Piece, the East Blue and Alabasta Sagas became available to stream.
The next two sagas of One Piece are Sky Island and Water 7, however, there is no guarantee that Netflix will be receiving both. This is because sagas are not counted as one long season are broken down into multiple seasons.
If Netflix only receives the Sky Island saga it will receive the following seasons:
- Season 5 | Episodes: 130-143
- Season 6 | Episodes: 144-195
If Netflix also receives the Water 7 saga it will take the number of seasons available to stream up to 9 and the number of episodes to 335:
- Season 7 | Episodes: 196-228
- Season 8 | Episodes: 229-263
- Season 9 | Episodes: 264-335
Hopefully, Netflix will receive both sagas and increase the episode count by a further 205 episodes!
What about Thriller Bark and Summit War?
We can’t rule out the possibility that Netflix won’t also receive seasons from Thriller Bark and Summit War sagas. However, this would be adding an unprecedented number of anime episodes to the Netflix US library all at once.
The only time we’ve seen such an incredible number of episodes added at once was when over 1000 episodes of One Piece were added to the Japanese Netflix library.
What’s more likely to happen is the Thriller Bark and Summit War sagas will arrive at a later date. If it takes another 21 months for more episodes to arrive, then One Piece fans could be waiting until December 2023.
What is the status of the live-action One Piece series?
Fans who are looking forward to watching the live-action adaptation of One Piece will be excited to learn that filming has recently kicked off.
Filming will reportedly begin in March 2022 and will run for at least four months before ending in July 2022.

A study published by Century Link on Jan. 14 indicates that One Piece was an incredibly popular query over the past year. For a show that premiered back in 1999, that’s no small feat. Of course, the fact that it’s been running for so long underscores how well-loved it is.
One Piece began streaming on Netflix in 2020 and the streamer is currently in the process of turning Luffy D. Monkey’s adventure into a live-action show. Such developments could certainly have boosted interest from 2020 to 2021. And the anime’s big milestone probably didn’t hurt either.

One Piece Live-Action TV Series From Netflix
Netflix's live-action adaptation of the beloved manga and anime series One Piece has officially begun production, Netflix Geeked posted a tweet that announced the production being underway with a series of images of the cast. The photos include one of Emily Rudd, who will be playing the role of Nami, sporting a One Piece t-shirt.
The other photo in the tweet is of fellow co-stars Jacob Romero Gibson, Iñaki Godoy, and Taz Skylar, who will play Usopp, the series lead Monkey D. Luffy, and Sanji, respectively. Other members of the cast include Mackenyu as master of three sword styles, Roronoa Zoro.
While production just starting, the actual debut of the series is still far away, Netflix has previously revealed the name of the first episode, "Romance Dawn," sharing the name of the one-off written in 1996 by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda and is what kicked off the global phenomenon as it is known today.
One Piece is a manga series that debuted in 1997 with an anime series beginning in 1999. The live-action series was originally announced back in January 2020. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew on their globe-trotting quest to find the titular “One Piece,” the legendary treasure of the former King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger.
The anime series currently sits at 1008 episodes and the manga sits at 1038 chapters, having sold over 490 million copies across 58 countries and regions worldwide, making it the top-selling manga series of all time.

One Piece set photos reveal the Nami actress Emily Rudd's first day on the show. On the heels of her dual roles in the streamer's Fear Street horror trilogy, Rudd will make her debut as Nami in Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece. In the anime series, Nami utilizes her cartographical skills as a navigator for the Straw Hat Pirates and dreams of one day drawing a map of the entire world.
One Piece anime series is based on Eiichiro Oda's manga series of the same name and follows the trials of Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy whose body obtains the physical properties of rubber after accidentally devouring a Devil Fruit.
With his newly acquired powers and a crew of pirates, Luffy sets sail for the Grand Line in search of the titular treasure in order to become the next Pirate King. Netflix's adaptation was first announced in 2017, though the One Piece cast just recently came together, which also includes Who Killed Sara? star Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Boiling Point's Taz Skylar as Sanji, Pacific Rim: Uprising's Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, and Greenleaf star Jacob Gibson as Usopp.
One Piece star Rudd is sharing photos from her first day on set of the Netflix show as Nami. Rudd shared the images on Instagram, the caption indicating she has completed her first day of shooting. The photos range from a look at her actor's chair, the flowers she received as a gift upon her arrival, to a selfie showing a side-by-side comparison between Rudd and her character from the anime, Nami.
